  2009 Awake Bound Volume Needed!

  we are in need of a 2009 awake bound volume to complete the magazine project for avoidjw.

  i have been able to scan 2 issues which are october and december, but we are in need of the other 10 issues for that year.

  or, if someone has some pdfs of the awake's for that year we can bundle them together and send them over to avoidjw.. .

  today, an old jw friend came to visit a member of my family who is still active.

  i saw them leave together to run errands.

  when they left, she didn't say hi and barely looked at me.. after taking care of my cores around the house, i noticed that the sister had forgot to turn off the head lights of her car.

  my first post here and unfortunately it is asking for help.. i was a born in jehovah's witness and from my earliest memories, i know i hated being one.

  i hated the embarrassment of being the "outsider" at school and i hated not being allowed to have any friends.

  of course i had the obligatory friends in the kingdom hall - none of whom were my age exactly and none of whom i would have personally chosen to be friends with if i had been left to pick them myself in a natural setting.

  If you choose to have counseling look for a therapist that has experience with former cult patients and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Also, think of yourself as normal but with a brief youthful misery that you got over with.

  are jehovah's witnesses on their way to practicing amish style rumspringa?

  basically pushing young people out into the world and seeing who comes back with their faith intact.

  after so many generations of discouraging education, it seems like an easy way to ensure that there are some educated born-ins.

  Interesting thought. It surprises me that an authoritarian religion like the Amish would even have such an arrangement. All other authoritarian religions, JWs included, don't want their youth to be knowledgeable of the world let alone getting muddy and soiled in it.

  Strange sounds from the mens toilet ,late 80s early 90s

  so as a young boy bored and wanting to stretch my legs i would sometimes take a trip into the toilet just to get away from the main meeting room.

  did my little mind know what certain sounds were coming from behind the cubical?

  no.. but now in my 30s i'm fully aware what that sound was.

  Animals were created without needing Toilet Paper ... but not Man ... Why???

  my dog and other pets do their "business" and run away and are happy.. man does not have that luxury.

  any thoughts on why animals were created with the "poop and go" capacity while man has to go through more steps?

  was this perhaps an additional issue that god added on when adam and eve sinned (such as eve having significant more birth pains)?

  each little flower that opens,each little bird that sings,he made their glowing colours,he made their tiny wings.. all of us have been moved by the riot of colours in a spring meadow, the majesty of a sunset or the beauty of a bird in breeding plumage.

  what greater evidence could there be of a loving creator than our colourful world and the human eye that is equipped to appreciate it?.

  this is the sort of simplistic argument that convinces a lot of creationists about their beliefs.. it's time to "unweave the rainbow".. light is detected by a proteins called opsins.

  Tit bits from your childhood does not equate with being accurate as to what humans were supposedly doing 65 million years ago for goodness sake.

  I only mentioned my childhood because you brought up childhood memories in general.

  As far as the main point that was brought up you haven't responded to the issue of radioisotope dating techniques. Also, humans weren't here 65 million years ago.

  It amazes me how people can look at their watch and state with such certainty that this or that happened 65 million years ago give or take a few trillion years..
  
  People can not even remember their own childhoods accurately yet they want you to believe and base your reality on what they say happened 65 million years ago?

  Godzoo, the "watch" that they use are radioisotopes that deplete themselves in a detectable and highly accurate manner.

  And by the way, I can remember my childhood way back to 12 months of age - its accuracy verified by my aunt, grandmother and mother's diary.
